Mooloolaba's Christmas Boat Parade is fun for everyone! Bring your family, bring your friends. Pack a picnic. Get yourselves ready for a magical, floating light spectacular! Imagine - loads of colour, pretty Christmas lights, entertainment and more. 

Houses and apartments all around Mooloolah River are encouraged to dress-up on the night. This is the perfect chance for families, friends, visitors, adults and children to come together to enjoy a free and fun community event.

Caloundra Fringe Festival 2014

Take a stroll along Caloundra's coastal boardwalk and experience more than 70 events in and around the Caloundra Central Business District and surrounding beaches. 

Fill up your days and your nights by picking up events from the extensive Fringe calendar. Choose events covering music (Missy Higgins through to the Buderim Brass Band), film, projection, arts and crafts, the environment, carnivale street theatre, markets, busking and more. Venues range from open air waterfront locations through to theatres and intimate performance spaces like the Art Gallery. 

The big blockbuster event is the Caloundra Music Festival with four days of sun, surf and soul in the amphitheatre at Kings Beach. Music for every taste and every age in a fun family friendly environment. 

Some Fringe events are free while others are tickets. Check the program and work out your itinerary. 

This is definitely the time to be on the Sunshine Coast.

IRONMAN 70.3 Mooloolaba 14th Sep

Perfectly located in the heart of Queensland's Sunshine Coast, Mooloolaba Beach offers the perfect year-round climate and is an ideal location for a sporting event, a relaxing family vacation or just a great place to escape to. The relaxing atmosphere of the Sunshine Coast, the friendly people and the endless scenic beauty of Mooloolaba Beach make it a hugely popular destination to visit.

Competitors will take in the best that Mooloolaba has to offer, starting with a swim off the surf beach followed by a flat and fast bike course. The run will tie up the day’s exciting events with a two lap course around Mooloolaba’s Esplanade lined with spectators. Discover more about the course. 

IRONMAN 70.3 Sunshine Coast provides a fitting warm up for those athletes heading over to Kona to take on the IRONMAN World Championship in October.

Gympie Garden Expo 2014

Gympie Garden Expo, only 40 minutes from the Sunshine Coast, hosts one of the states largest collection of orchids with the Gympie and District Societies annual competition. 

The Gympie Horticultural Society plant competition offers fascinating plant displays or you can visit open gardens for best of Town and Country, Novice and a Over 75 section. Guest speakers deliver informative talks followed up with their ever popular plant clinic. 

The weekend attracts market stalls offering plants, art and craft and a myriad of garden accessories to compliment the home gardener. The focus is on the sustainable lifestyle with permaculture displays and specialised gardening techniques for the community. 

There will be a multitude of raffles each day with the major raffle prize drawn on Sunday. Children and parking free.

The Queensland Oztag Senior State Cup 21 - 23 March

The Queensland Oztag Senior State Cup is the pinnacle of representative Oztag in Queensland. The competition hosts the best players from around the state selected to represent their venue and compete for the title of state champions. 

The Senior State Cup consists of fourteen divisions: Men's U16's, U17's, opens, 30's, 35's, 40's, 45's, and 50's divisions, Women's U16's, U17's, opens and senior divisions and Mixed open and senior divisions. The 2013 State Cup was also held in Caloundra and was a huge success with 61 teams in attendance, with 2014 team numbers expected to be 80 participants and families.
